Posters as teachable moments.

Learning ZoneXpress provides nutrition education products for schools. The company president requested posters in three categories: farm to school, breakfast, and global food culture.

Deb first defined simple questions for the posters to address, beginning with: What will kids find interesting, be engaged by, be curious about? How can we simply communicate the farm to school concept? How can we show the importance of breakfast to kids of different ages, in ways that matter to them? How can we encourage kids to be more interested in a wide variety of food?

It can be tempting to pack the available space with information, but brief, high-impact messages often get more attention (resulting in better ROI). And in a school setting, these messages provide a gateway for further discussion and learning.
